Viewing audiences are well aware of the brilliance in the performing arts of Pa Ke, winner of last year's coveted Golden Bell Award for Master of Ceremonies of a variety show, but few realize that he is also well-established in the field of interior design, running his own interior design company, which does quite an impressive business.
If one desires to climb to the peak of the performing arts, one must depend on chance as well as brilliance. Pa Ke, who is thirty years old this year, began acting at the age of seven. The ups and downs of show business taught him long ago the importance of stability. "So, I determined to set out in search of a more realistic lifestyle which I could cultivate at my leisure," he explains of his decision to go into interior design.
When Pa Ke goes to work, he does so with all his heart. When it is time for relaxation, he lets himself loosen up completely, as can be seen in his love of raising fish. "Don't you agree that watching the fish swim back and forth at the ir leisure can put you at your ease as well?" he asks. He sees the aquarium as a self-contained world; one which may be styled according to one's own tastes, unlike the real-life world, which often seems beyond our own control. "I don't know, maybe I' m using it as a sort of compensation," he says, laughing at himself. Especially for one who has both risen and dived in the sea of stardom, the pleasures of raising fish are hard to put into words.
