China Airlines, working through Hong Kong's Jardine Airport Services, Ltd. has begun directly tagging luggage which will accompany travelers going on to visit relatives in the mainland.
Liu Bang-yung, manager of the Baggage Services Center, points out that in the future luggage of travelers transferring in Hong Kong to flights on CAAC will be separated from that of travelers simply going to Hong Kong; China Airlines will then notify Jardine by telephone of the container numbers of that luggage, which can then be sent directly to the transfer area.
It is estimated that it will only take two hours to transfer passengers' luggage, and they can at least save the trouble of finding and transferring the luggage themselves.
