Pleasure craft:
Ocean-floor viewing craft: In Nanliao harbor are two glass-bottomed boats run by the township public administration office, which give visitors a view of the sea-floor gardens. The Chan-an Boat Company has one submersible and two partly submersible vessels. Once they dive under water, their guests can get a real feel for the joys of the ocean world, and they can watch scuba divers feeding the fish.
Pleasure boats: Shanasai, a luxury yacht, offers in-the-know ocean cruising, for net fishing or off-shore angling. It features local guides who offer edifying comments throughout the trip. They plug themselves as providing explanations about the ocean and island ecologies from a "Green Islander" perspective. For information inquire at ECNSA.
Diving services: There are three diving agencies now renting out diving equipment and boats for dives and offering oxygen tank refill services. Among these, the "Green Island Diving Agency" has certified diving instructors on the premises. Call ahead.
Trip suggestions:
(I) Regular sightseeing: If you want a leisurely vacation, you will want to spend at least two days and one night You can spend a half day touring the island, and watch the sunset on the beach at Nanliao or Chungliao or the Little Great Wall at Haisanping. At night take a dip in the sea water hot springs while listening to the ocean waves and counting the stars. On the second day go scuba diving or snorkeling or take a boat ride around the island. Although Green Island is small, after three days and two nights, you won't feel like you've had too much of the place.
(II) Diving or off-shore angling tours: Green Island has ten diving sites, and quite a few fishing spots. Divers who come here for a vacation will need at least three days and two nights not to be rushed, but ultimately the length of your stay will depend on how much time you have to spare and how many dives you would like to make. As for fishing, March to June, when migrating fish pass Green Island. is the time for net fishing. October to December suits angling for deep water fish that live 300 meters below the surface. Generally speaking, those coming to fish will want to spend four days and three nights.
