Once upon a time in a place called Chu, there was a man who was proud of his swordsmanship. One day, during a ferry trip, he accidentally dropped his sword overboard. "What should I do?" he said to himself. "Ah, I know. I will mark the place where I dropped it, and ask someone to dredge it up for me later." Happy that he had thought of such a clever idea, he made his mark on the ferry boat. But when the ferry moved, the swordman realized that the mark was moving also. The man learned from his experience that wrong methods are a waste of time, money and effort.
