Taiwan is an economically developed and internationalized nation, as indeed it has been for many years. It offers a free living environment in which everyone receives an education, the playing field is level, and there is equal opportunity. In this environment, women have been steadily climbing in status, excelling across all fields of endeavor.
Women are more “resilient” than “hard-nosed” men. Words that characterize women include delicate, understated, and low-key. But other à-propos terms include persistent, determined, indomitable…. Today they are courageously seizing opportunities to spread their wings and fly, struggling to get their piece of the pie. In all kinds of fields, women are flourishing, repeatedly demonstrating a fiercely competitive desire to be the best. The life stories they have to tell are inspiring and moving, and they are setting examples and breaking down barriers for others to follow.
This is a world in flux, and we can only expect to see even more and better things from women.
