Southern Comfort
Dear Editor:
I am a reader from faraway Argentina in South America, and am using e-mail to write your magazine.
I feel that a magazine like yours that urges communication with its readers is rare indeed, and so for this let me offer my congratulations.
Sinorama is a highly readable magazine with excellent content and modern photography; it's very praiseworthy.
I hope that my letter can be published in your next issue.

Banned, Gaining Visitors
Dear Editor:
I have read your magazine's Japanese homepage, so I am writing this letter to you in Japanese.
The fact is that today is my first time to read Sinorama. I learned about the existence of your magazine because it was mentioned on the Internet in a number of different news reports concerning the "100 Internet sites banned in China."
Because I like music, when I saw your article on the Olympic games in Atlanta, the title that flashed across the screen in front of my eyes enticed me to take a look. I discovered that the contents were extremely fascinating. I myself have a CD which contains the song "Return to Innocence" by the British group Enigma. This, however, is a collection of tunes by various artists, and "Return to Innocence" was the only song by Enigma in the compilation. The explanatory notes introduce this song as "harmonized female voices of Africa," so I believed that it was a melody by African indigenous peoples. I think in Japan many people probably have the same impression.
When I learned the true story today, I knew my reading this website was worthwhile.
Because, as I mentioned at the outset, China has blocked access to these websites, it has had quite the opposite effect and has raised their prominence. I believe that the number of people who visit your website just as I did will only increase. I wish your whole staff further success in the future.

Protecting Dolphins
Dear Editor:
Your article moved me to tears when I heard about all the accidental deaths of the dolphins, and how in some areas of the world they provide dolphins for human comsumption. I think it's just terrible that many dolphins have been drowned after being "accidentally" entangled in driftnets. Thank you so much for making the public aware of what's going on, and instilling concern in them. I truthfully hope that because of people like you, soon this problem will no longer exist.
Thank you so much for your article!!!
