It was a beautiful day and the clam decided to lie in the sun. A snipe happened to pass by and thought the clam would make a delicious meal. When the snipe tried to grab the clam, however, it closed tight on the snipe's bill. Neither would budge an inch and so there they both stayed -- stuck. Soon a fisherman came by and grabbed them both in his net.
The moral of this story is that in dealing with others, do not get involved in long, drawn-out arguments. If conflicts go on too long, with neither side giving in, both parties will lose and another will gain the advantage.
