There are always surprises at the bustling performance square in Xinyi District, Taipei City.
This time, it’s a performance by world-class entertainer Isaac Hou. Using centrifugal force, his hands and feet balance his body within a metal wheel. At moments, his head points towards the ground. At others, the wheel containing his body spins rapidly a full 360 degrees, performer and wheel integrated into one swirling motion. The audience is silent, spellbound with every motion of the performance. The only sound is the peaceful background music.
On a Taipei holiday afternoon, stressed minds can be eased.
