That is truly the sound of the wind
A very gentle
very far-off wind
Where no one has ever been
Blowing, ceaselessly, blowing
Like me lying quietly on the grass
Like my deep slumber's
Even breathing --
And my breathing is
Cheating me, ceaselessly, cheating me
Making me think I am still alive
Still healthy, still happy
Still smiling, still imperishable
Imperishably gloriously alive
In the sound of the wind
Wind blowing above, wind blowing below
Left and right, in and out
In reality I am but a tiny unknown place
Where no one has ever been
No one, truly, no one
Not even I
