Dear Editor:
My most cordial congratulations on the quality of your magazine. I've been following it for many years with great interest and can attest to its improvements year after year. I believe you are performing a very meaningful job by keeping the traditional spirit of overseas Chinese alive and by letting those of us who are not Chinese but who feel a special veneration for their culture know about their ages-old land.
I especially like the articles on Chinese customs and traditions as well as those that show new social trends on Taiwan, which I learn a lot from.
Keep up the good work!

Dear Editor:
I studied in the United States between 1983 and 1985 at East MichiganUniversity, where I was president of the Chinese students association. We received Sinorama courtesy of our alumni association in Taiwan, and we fought over each copy for a chance to read it. For students from Taiwan, it was a comfort for our homesickness, while for students from the mainland, it was a warm and inviting magazine to learn about Taiwan without the usual political boilerplate.
When I read the letter from Mr. Li in Hunan Province in last month's issue, the hopes and enthusiasm of a young man I don't even know spoke home to me. I felt that if I could bring joy to a friend from after (to paraphrase Confucius) for a small price, that would make me happy too, so I bought him a gift subscription. I'd like to thank you for having charged me at the resubscriber rate, in view of my well-meant intentions.
Sincerely, Hsu Chao-ming Taoyuan
Dear Editor:
Your article on Cornell University published in the September issue of Sinorama indeed is excellent. Your reporting was comprehensive, one of the most thorough examinations of this university that I have read, and the writing is clear and accurate.
Also, my compliments to your photographer, Pu Hua-chih. The photographs are beautiful and storytelling. Together, text and pictures created a fine professional package, one that makes us proud of your work because you told the story of Cornell so well. We are keeping this issue of Sinorama in our permanent files, because of its importance to Cornell.
With best wishes for your continued success, I remain
Yours sincerely,
