It's early on the streets of Fenglin, and people are starting their day. Office workers head to work, students make their way to school, and a simple, hard-working Hakka woman sets up a stall by the side of the road. She sells vegetables she's grown herself, home-made kumquat syrup, dried radishes, bamboo shoots, and other vegetables. She doesn't loudly hawk her wares like the other vendors do. She just sits quietly waiting for customers to come. One morning's earnings might not be much, but she must be satisfied with the little she gets because she made it herself.
