The high quality of your magazine requires no superfluous praise of mine. One point has been bothering me, though. It seems like the Potpourri section has been getting shorter and shorter compared with a couple of years ago. Is this because there aren't enough really first-rate articles to choose from? Or because foreign readers who can't read Chinese might object to the space it takes up? If it wouldn't interfere with the format, I'd like you to give more space to Potpourri. It's something that makes Sinorama special.

Because our feature articles have increased somewhat and space is limited, the Potpourri section has indeed been cut back recently. But, according to our recent survey, Potpourri is one of our readers' favorite sections. So we'll do our best to improve the selection of articles. And we thank you for your suggestion.
I enjoy your magazine very much, and its quality has improved greatly since 1980 when I was a foreign student learning Chinese in Taipei, and even then I liked the magazine very much. Now I am an artist, and a Sami nationality (Lapp), and from this you should understand that I am especially interested in arts and crafts, especially of ethnic minorities. I was lucky enough to visit Orchid Island, and have many friends there. All in all I love Taiwan and its many peoples, and I miss you all very much! That's why Sinorama is so much appreciated by me.
May I put forward a wish: Please do some articles on the various ethnic minorities of Taiwan. I would especially like it if you could go to Orchid Island, too!
Many thanks, and congratulations!

The Taiwan aborigines are indeed a most attractive subject. We have been actively planning to bring out a series of reports on them for our readers, which we hope to carry at an appropriate time.
