Mortals and Immortals

In Taiwanese folk religious ceremonies, participants parade dressed as immortals to bring peace and prosperity to the land. Rain or shine, they are willing to put on the costumes, give it their all, and complete their mission.

Pictured is a row of participants, with the costumes of different immortals, resting their legs. When humans rest, so do the immortals, and together they make for an amusing image.
