The damselfly--such a poetic name! Can you recognize one? They look very similar to a dragonfly, but look closely and you'll see two differences. When the slender damselfly rests, it holds its two sets of wings against its back. A dragonfly, on the other hand, holds its wings out to the sides when resting. The damselfly is also slower in flight than the speedy dragonfly. Damselflies are found near water. If you're lucky, you can spot one dancing in the air seeking a mate. You might even see one fighting with a dragonfly over some food--the reality of the natural world!
