The plans for the Chung Cheng Memorial Hall to commemorate the late President Chiang Kai-shek have been chosen. They were drawn by C. C. Yang. Construction work will begin at the Taipei site on Oct. 31, the late President's birthday. "Chung Cheng" was his "courtesy name." The Chung Cheng Memorial Hall will include three buildings: the main hall, a Chinese opera house and a concert hall. A large park, called Chung Cheng Park, will surround the buildings. The whole site covers an area of 250,000 square meters. The memorial hall aims to symbolize a sense of nobility and President Chiang's loving kindness. The main hall will have an area of 8,000 square meters. The Chinese opera house and the concert hall will meet international standards.
