Ingredients:
1 carp 3 lbs
salt 1 Tsp
soy 1 Tsp
rice wine 3 Tsp
five-spice powder 1 Tsp
green onion 3
ginger 3 pcs
oil 6 cups
soy sauce 1/2 cup
rice wine 5 Tsp
sugar 5 Tsp
red pepper 5 pcs
water 5 cups
sesame oil 3 Tsp
DIRECTIONS:
1. Slice fish in half along spine, then cut diagonal slits along side of fish. (If fish is small then do not cut in half.) Mix ingredients 1. together and marinate fish for 30 minutes. Save green onion and ginger.
2. Heat oil. Fry fish for 5-8 minutes until crispy. Remove and allow oil to drain off.
3. Simmer ingredients 2. along with green onion, ginger, and fried fish over low heat for 30 minutes until sauce evaporates. Finally drip sesame oil over fish.
This dish can be stored in the refrigerator up to one week.
