Ingredients: 1 round cod steak, approx.
375 g; half an onion; a little shredded carrot.
Condiments: Ground pepper, salt, half lemon.
Preparation: 1) Clean cod steak, rub with a little salt.
2) Peel and slice onion.
3) Take a sheet of aluminum foil. Arrange onion and carrot in a layer on foil, sprinkle with pepper and salt, place cod steak on top, close foil into a pouch and place in oven preheated to 180-200 oC.
4) Bake for 20-25 minutes (depending on thickness of cod steak and power of oven).
5) When baked through, remove from oven and serve. Sprinkle with lemon juice, to taste.
Note: Most cod steaks on the market are somewhat longer and narrower, with soft meat. Round cod steaks have better, firmer meat, but are slightly more expensive.
